Hyperhidrosis – How To Deal With It
Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition that involves hyperactivity of the sweat glands of the body, usually in the hands, feet and the underarms. Some sufferers of the condition report excessive sweating on their back and legs as well. For a long time, hyperhidrosis patients could not get adequate medical and moral support because it is a rare problem – only 1-2 percent of people in the world are known to have it.
Effects Of Hyperhidrosis
While hyperhidrosis causes inconvenience to those who suffer from it in their day-to-day activities, the most profound effects of it are psychological and social. There is still not much awareness among the public about this illness which leads to denial, incorrect diagnosis and embarrassment on the part of the sufferer.
Fortunately, many physicians have come up with possible solutions that are non-invasive as well as surgical. Also, there are many support groups and forums that hyperhidrosis patients can join to reach out to people who know what it is like to have this condition.
What Patients Can Do To Cope With It
There are several tried and tested medications and procedures which hyperhidrosis sufferers can use with recommendation by a physician. Their effects differ from person to person:
This comes as an at-home-use kit that is quite effective for palmar (hands) and plantar (feet) hyperhidrosis. It is initially used for about two weeks, following which a weekly regimen is followed according to its effectiveness for the person.
2. Medicines like Drysol or Robinul
The high ratio of Aluminium chloride helps to reduce sweating with consistent use and the medicine causes little side effects.
3. Botox shots
They may sound scary, but they are very effective in reducing axillary (underarm) hyperhydrosis.
4. High potential anti-perspirant deodorants
OTP products like Certain Dri and Maxim or strong brands such as Arrid Extra Dry and Driclor have been in use by hyperhidrosis patients who claim they are very effective in preventing excessive sweating.
Support For Hyperhidrosis Patients
One of the most important lessons for people suffering from this ailment is that they are not alone! There are many support groups and even online forums which function internationally that are solid platforms for patients.
Sufferers can talk to people like them and discuss their problems, such as
Feeling uncomfortable when having to shake hands or have physical contact with people,
Avoiding social gatherings and ‘normal’ hanging out activities,
Giving up sports and athletic pursuits,
Not getting support from friends and family members,
Lack of doctoral understanding, and
Feeling embarrassed, ashamed, depressed and/or stressed which aggravates the sweating condition.
Joining such a community would be a great self-esteem boost and help sufferers deal with this ailment. They can take advice and tips from others to help them cope with their social and psychological stress and become healthier and more confident to take on life like their peers!

Hangover Cure – Zing Pain Relief has the tool in the war against the hangover!
The morning-after, the hangover feeling can range in strength and intensity and vary from person to person, but it usually involves one of many side effects like a sore head, sickness, dizziness, dehydration, tiredness and lethargy.
And the cause of a hangover – is there really a cure or remedy? ZingPain Relief using their magnet technique are enjoying the feedback of their approving users and of the Zing Hangover product.
Apart from the blatant over indulgence of one too many drinks, the principal cause of a hangover is ethanol – the alcohol in our drinks. This is one of the main causes of the headache, dry mouth, dizziness and sickly feeling. Your hangover eases as the body turns the ethanol into less toxic chemicals as the day progresses.
The use of Zing Hangover Cure magnets allows the magnets to add stimulus to acupuncture points that allow the continual break down of the ethanol, which is done in the liver. Putting on your magnets before you have your first beverage, gets your digestive system working more efficiently, and helps you process the alcohol, more efficiently than without magnets on. By not processing the alcohol provides the hangover; so everyone has a unique tipping point when the alcohol is passed out of the body successfully, and when it remains cooped up within the body – and ultimately resulting in the effects of a hangover.
What other precautions can you take to prevent a hangover?
Try not to drink on an empty stomach; eat something – preferably carbohydrates – before you start drinking. The food will help slow the body’s absorption of the alcohol.
Drink plenty of water or soft drinks in between alcoholic drinks. Your body takes about one hour to process each unit of alcohol. Consider stopping drinking well before the end of the evening, so the process can begin.
The beauty of wearing magnets to reduce the effect alcohol has on your body, is that they keep working, while you are sleeping – hence why it is a hangover cure and remedy at the same time. Zing hangover magnets undoubtedly help reduce the feeling of the morning after.
Unfortunately if you overdo it, there is little the world of acupressure and magnets can do to fix the unfixable! Zing Pain relief hangover magnets do however have a place in the fast paced hectic lifestyles we live, to help us enjoy a drink without a raging hangover.
What is restless legs syndrome?
This is a condition where you have an uncontrollable urge to move your legs. It often occurs with a very uncomfortable sensation in the legs. It is also called Ekboms syndrome.
What are the symptoms?

The urges happen every 10-60 seconds and people are made to feel restless. The symptoms usually occur at rest and can be worse while in bed or relaxing so can make people feel exhausted due to lack of sleep. They are helped by movement so people often have to get up and move around.
Some people also get sudden involuntary jerks which can be distressing for the patient and their partners. They often happen while asleep but can occur when resting or trying to get to sleep. The severity can vary considerably and in bad cases can cause depression.
What is the cause?
In most cases of RLS the cause is unknown; it often develops first in young adults and can steadily get worse. It is thought to be related to an imbalance of a chemical called dopamine.
Anaemia can be a cause so the iron levels should be checked. Some drugs prescribed by your doctor can cause it and other illnesses such as thyroid disease and diabetes.
Is there a good treatment or remedies out there?
Daytime exercise can help, relaxing and avoiding caffeine before bed helps Alcohol has been shown to make it worse. Many drugs have been tried with variable results. The drugs that seem to have the best results are Ropinrole and Tramadol but they don’t always help.

Zing Pain Relief’s unique treatment map use traditional acupuncture points to gently stimulate these (TCM), traditional Chinese medicine, points and should slowly reduce the severity of RLS. They can be left on for many days at a time and are safe. We advise that you continue to use your medication initially & slowly reduce it if symptoms improve.

Clothing for Excessive Sweating
Sweating is something that the body does naturally all the time. Even when it is cold, the human body perspires to keep its temperature regulated. However, there are people who have excessive sweating or to give it its official name – hyperhidrosis.
Sometimes excessive sweating is a medical condition that a doctor can treat. This usually means the condition will improve. During this time, a person may feel embarrassed, or feel self-conscious about their appearance. They do not want people to see perspiration marks on their clothing. Being anxious about sweating and others seeing the perspiration, can lead to more incidences of heavy sweating. People often become depressed and isolate themselves from others, to hide the excessive sweating.
If people with this issue do go out, they will often try to hide the sweating by wearing loose fitting clothing regardless of fashion trends and looks. Shopping for clothes becomes a mission to find clothes that will not make it obvious that they are sweating rather than if a person actually likes the clothing.
There are clothing fabrics and colors that will prevent others from noticing the excess sweating. A person will feel more confident if they have knowledge of the type of fabrics that will work best for them. In addition, sweating can create body odour, so choosing the proper fabric can reduce the smell of perspiring. Using anti-perspirants and frequent bathing is imperative for people with excessive sweating. The first items of clothing we put on each morning are undergarments. While generally, no one else will see them, the fabric of undergarments can help prevent, or conceal excessive perspiration. Choose cotton fabrics as these will allow perspiration to evaporate more rapidly.
Women and men can also purchase speciality products that are made for hyperhidrosis. Dress shields, or underarm shields, can be worn in the armpit area to absorb perspiration. They are available in disposable and washable formats for men and women. Camisoles or undershirts in breathable cotton, bamboo or other natural fabrics can also absorb sweat. People must experiment with layering, and find what works the best for them. Socks are now manufactured by many companies in fabric that has wicking action. Wicking action means it carries the sweat away from the skin, allowing the perspiration to evaporate.
There are also clothing items in athletic wear, which provide wicking. These can often be worn as undergarments, or for everyday wear. Colour choice in clothing is also important to hide perspiration. Darker colours do not show sweat marks as much as lighter colours. Patterned fabric prevents perspiration marks from being as apparent. Wearing a jacket, bolero, sweater of other layering garment can prevent others from seeing armpit stains. While shopping for clothing, bring along a water bottle. Sprinkle a tiny amount of water on the clothing item to see how the moisture reacts on the fabric.
There is help out there so don’t let hyperhidrosis get in the way of loving and living your life.

High Cost of Medical Care Destroying the Health of Americans
Guest post by Sara Mackey
Depending on the side of the debate currently in the spotlight, Americans will either have access to cheap medical insurance online or elsewhere because health care reform will move forward or because it will be dismantled. In the meantime, in a nation where a family of four pays almost $20,000 a year for normal medical expenses, Americans are sicker, and have a shorter life expectancy than their counterparts in nations with more affordable medical services.
Staggering Medical Costs for Lesser Results
While 17.4 percent of the American gross domestic product is devoted to health care, 50 million people in this country have no health insurance protection whatsoever. The annual U.S. expenditure per person for health care is approximately $7,960. By comparison, the French spent 11.8 percent of their GDP annually on health care, for $3,978 per person. All French citizens have health insurance, and on average, the French live two years longer.
In fact, the residents of at least 26 other nations with lower health care costs than the U.S. live longer than Americans. In a recent study by the World Health Organization examining the health of the populations of 19 advanced, industrial nations, the U.S. ranked last in preventable deaths. Approximately 100,000 people die each year in this country from completely avoidable conditions.
In 1999, the World Health Organization placed the U.S. in 24th position globally for life expectancy, but a study conducted at Columbia University published in the November 2010 issue of Health Affairs showed the country in 49th. The study’s authors attributed the decline to the expense of health care and the growing numbers of people who are uninsured or underinsured.
High Costs Lead to Poor Health
While the study results conflict in just how poorly the U.S. is performing in the health care arena, the statistics still clearly show that Americans are not getting their money’s worth in terms of medical services. Add to that a situation in which the price of health insurance has gone up 8-9 percent over the last year, and a recipe for disaster ensues.
Currently two in five Americans are obese, with levels of heart disease, diabetes, and weight-related joint failures all on the rise. At the same time, however, projections indicate the U.S. will spend $4.5 trillion annually on health care by 2019.
More than 40 percent of Americans who are of working age have medical debt, and more than 60 percent of bankruptcies are directly caused by that debt. A more sobering fact, however, is that of those personal bankruptcy cases, 75 percent of the individuals involved had health insurance coverage.
In a country where health insurance premiums have risen three times faster than wages, it is not surprising that a vast number of citizens cannot afford coverage, especially while the economy is still recovering from the Great Recession, which began late in 2008.
The aggregate result of this situation is not just the hit to consumers’ pocketbooks in an effort to find affordable health care and insurance. Americans are sicker than they’ve ever been before, and our life expectancy is shorter and continuing to drop.Tags: financial, health, hyperhidrosis, insurance, medical insurance
