Sometimes it’s easier to gauge whether a product is worth trying when you read testimonials – so we’ve been sent the below for you to get a feel of what Klima Antiperspirant has done for other people.

    Sweat Guard’s website

I am thirty five and have spent all my life with an embarrassing and socially restricting problem of severe underarm sweating. Not being able to wear any colours, only really black and white. I used to put elastoplast plasters on the inside of my tops when I was a teenager going to disco’s to try and prevent the sweat coming through. I have never been able to wear any pretty tops or dresses, I never walked with confidence when I was out at weddings, functions etc as I was always conscious people could see the marks under my arms which would make me panic more and therefore sweat more. I have spent alot of time crying about it over the years so embarrassed by the condition and embarrassed to talk to anyone about it. I spoke eventually with my doctor but no products he suggested worked. I had contacted a clinic about surgery when I found the Sweat Guard website by accident one day. Klima antiperspirant has changed my life – I was a bridesmaid last year for a friend who chose a bright pink dress for me to wear which I could wear with confidence walking up the aisle infront of everyone knowing there would be no underarm sweat marks. I have gone mad on buying bright colour tops and I am loving having colour in my life. I only wish I had found this product years ago. I don’t think people understand how debilitating this condition can be and the effect it has on ones life and here is the solution.
    Melanie – Eire

My life was very hard before I used Klima Antiperspirant. I used to go home half way through work to get washed and put anti-perspirant deodorant on. I tried so many that did not stop me sweating, or the smell. I have now been using kilma for 4 months and it is just fantastic. I now have a better job dealing with the public.
I always used to hide away, it has honestly changed my life. Amazing product that works. Life begins.
    Wendy – Aberdeenshire

It really is truly amazing and I can not believe I do not sweat or smell any more in just 2 days. I recently brought your Kilma deodorant and I had my doubts that it would work. But my doubts have now completely disappeared.
    Thank you so much sweatguard
    Best regards
    Nat – Berkshire

Happy to say Klima actually works – I use it once every 2 days and I am dry all day long. I recently bought klima antiperspirant from sweatguard after trying numerous other antiperspirants to stop having wet marks all the time and ruining my clothes. As a 26 year old woman it looks awfull.
    Ann – Tyne and Wear

I am totally amazed by my first purchase from Sweat Guard. First time I used klima antiperspirant, I was totally dry for 5 solid days. Tried loads of treatments from doctors, but they never worked. I will be using Sweat Guard again, totally amazing.
    Joe – Tyne and Wear

For too long I have been wasting money on antiperspirants that simply do not work for me. Being a teacher it was quite embarassing when pupils pointed out my underarm wetness, from first bell to last bell of the day. That is until I tried Klima antiperspirant through Sweat Guard. A couple of sprays each evening means I can now enjoy the next day in the classroom without any distraction. Initially the underam felt so wet that it seemed incapable of working, but the ingredients take to work immediately and Klima antiperspirant is now what I use on a daily basis.

    Hydrosal website
    Hydrosal customer testimonials
    Forum link blog
    Forum link testimonials

I’ve recently been trying Hydrosal Antiperspirant. It’s a clear, colorless, odorless, topical gel that you apply (sparingly) to your underarm area. Hydrosal is great for treating hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). It’s a unique formulation developed by dermatologists, Hydrosal Gel contains the highly effective ingredient aluminum chloride hexahydrate delivered in a simple gel base. It’s simple to use. Wash and thoroughly dry the area to be treated, apply Hydrosal every night for seven nights at bed time, then continue as needed or as directed by a healthcare professional.

Hydrosal Gel is specially formulated for people who suffer with hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). The gel contains 15% aluminum chloride hexahydrate, a concentration proven to be more effective than other aluminum salts typically used in regular antiperspirants. The gel base means that Hydrosal has a low risk of irritation. Studies have shown the gel formulation is better tolerated than an alcohol solution found in many other products available for treating excessive sweating. In addition to reducing perspiration, Hydrosal Gel also helps to reduce underarm odor.

    How To Use Hydrosal Gel
It is recommended that you wash and dry the area to be treated prior to application. A hair dryer set on “cool” could be used if necessary. A small quantity should be applied for seven consecutive nights at bedtime, then continued as needed. If you have sensitive skin, two to three treatments per week at bedtime are initially recommended. For minor irritations, a hydrocortisone cream could be applied an hour before the application of the gel and 15 minutes later if needed. If irritation persists, stop the medication and contact your doctor. Hydrosal Gel should not be applied to irritated, freshly shaved, or broken skin.

    Side Effects
Hydrosal Gel is generally well tolerated by most people. However, along with most products, it does have the ability to irritate skin. If irritation persists, stop using Hydrosal Gel and contact your doctor.

The first time I tried Hydrosal was a bit hit and miss. Learning to use any new product and getting to know how to get the best out of it can take a while. The first night I used it, I went overboard on the amount I used. I had enough for four underarms but since I couldn’t get it back into the bottle, I slathered it on. Not surprisingly, the next morning my armpits were burning. I’d been trialling another product that had burned my skin so I decided to leave Hydrosal for a few weeks. Once my skin had healed, I used less of the gel. The next morning, my skin was still itchy so I left it another couple of weeks before trying again. Having done some research on products in general, I decided to use it within the hairline only, and sparingly at that. Tip: if you can’t get your skin bone dry prior to using a product, use a hairdryer on cool setting or dust lightly with some talc. This helped a great deal because my skin was slightly damp when I applied it. That was possibly one of the reasons my delicate skin became sore and itchy. Anyway. My trial eventually worked! I had to experiment with where to place the gel, if I used it outside of the ‘hair line’, or used too much, or used after shaving, it set me back a few days. Now I’ve fine tuned it, I’m very happy with the results! The bottle lasts for ages too.

Hydrosal was recently featured in a journal article published in the July 2011 issue of Cutis by Dr. Woolery-Lloyd and Dr. Valins from the University of Miami Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery. The article highlights Hydrosal’s efficacy as cotherapy with Botox for people who obtain a suboptimal response from treatment with Botox alone. The patients included suffered from moderate to severe hyperhidrosis, on the HDSS scale a 3 or 4. All participants reached 75-100% response rate with cotherapy and no irritation was observed.

I know Botox injections can be quite painful, and this cotherapy allows for minimizing breakthrough sweating and extending the duration of treatment, both fabulous for the patient health and wallet!

I always find it really interesting to read other people’s experiences with Hyperhidrosis and came across this blog – it’s written by a Canadian guy and tells his experiences of Japanese Summer and how harsh they can be. I’ve also added the comments left on the blog.

I really really hope the blog owner doesn’t mind us publishing this, I’ve sent him a message on Twitter with a link to where he can find us – if he does, and he wants his blog removed then that’s no problem, just email me and please accept our fervent apologies for overstepping the mark :)

    Sweating in Japan

Growing up in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, I faced a varied climate. There were some distinct seasons. We of course were faced with damp, slushy and cold winters. Those were followed by muddy and damp springs. After spring was the shortest season of them all, summer. Summer lasted from about the second week of July until the end of August. The temperatures were arm and relatively dry. We would deal with average temperatures of about 25C, comfortable and warm. After that came my favorite season, fall. The air was crisp and the fall colours throughout Cape Breton’s forests were simply breathtaking.

Fast forward many years and I find myself living in the Kansai region of Japan. The climate is far different from what I grew up with and people deal with the elements in a very different way.

How do the seasons here in Kobe compare with those I dealt with while growing up? Well, there isn’t a lot in common!

In Kobe, there are certainly distinct seasons. Winter is mild and very easy to cope with. I like to refer to winters here as “winter lite”! We basically have no snow at all and the temperatures hover around 5C. Winter in Kobe is like mid-fall back home. I like it, but I occasionally miss the “white stuff.” Spring comes along and temperatures skyrocket very quickly. By mid-May, temperatures are I the mid to high 20’s. Then comes a bonus season! Rainy Season.

Rainy Season is basically a month of wet and a whole lot of not fun. As I am writing this post, the rainy season is beginning.

This is a month of having to hang your laundry inside your house (although clothes dryers are standard in Canadian households, they don’t exist in Japan). It is a month of your clothes not drying, getting moldy and not smelling so fresh. This is a season of testing the strength and durability of a variety of umbrellas and hoping someone doesn’t steal your umbrella when you leave it in the umbrella stand outside your office. It is wet!

Rainy season passes and we are immediately thrown into the “Japanese sauna”!

Summer in this area of Japan is brutal. It is hot and very humid. Often, with the humidex, temperatures reach the high 30’s and at times the low 40’s. You sweat from the time you wake up until the time you go to bed. Then you sweat in bed!

Summer in Japan is all about having high power bills in your house because of the air conditioner (even though many Japanese people refuse to use the air conditioners they have) and pointing fans in every direction you can think of.

During my first summer here, I was often self-conscience about the amount I was sweating. I was embarrassed about the fact that the underarms of my shirt were often wet. I was embarrassed about constantly having to wipe the endless waterfall of sweat from my brow. Then I began to look around and noticed that I wasn’t alone. Most of the people around me were sharing the same misery! Most men were also soaking through their shirts and I realized most people carried “sweat towels.” Small towels used to wipe their brows, necks and faces. Both men and women would constantly use these towels. Construction workers normally just tie a white towel around their heads like a bandana to soak up the moisture (I’ve even seen a few dorky foreigners do the same).

Once the sweltering nastiness of summer passes, we have fall in Japan. Fall here is much like mid-summer where I grew up in Canada. It is still pretty warm, but at least the sweating pretty much stops.

Then we’re back to winter and the cycle continues.

Conclusion: Weather here is a lot different than what I grew up with and summer here REALLY sucks!

I thought I’d add the comments, the first one made me smile – everyone’s sweat is the same, no matter where we come from :) I’ve never come across a person with Hyperhidrosis who actually smells (I had to get that in!). We’re the most hygienic people you could ever come across. And if the antiperspirants in Japan are that weak then I really do feel for them, it must be their own personal hell, especially in their Summer.

There’s something that always amused me about sweating in Japan. The deodorant in Japan is incredibly weak. The reason? Japanese people tell me it’s because Japanese sweat has no smell.
    Right…
Some of the worst smelling people I have ever smelled in my entire life are Japanese businessmen.

I always tell anyone who will listen not to come to Tokyo between May and September – summer in NZ sounds a lot like Canada, only we get a nice long summer. Winter is rainy and cold – Tokyo only gets nice pleasant warm weather for about 2 weeks each spring and each autumn – and I have heard that summers are worse in Kansai. Climate was apparently a big consideration in the relocation of the capital to Tokyo.

Quite glad for the cool summers here on the north island! I actually went to Kansai last August. Stayed with my family in Osaka while day tripping Nara, Kyoto, and Kobe. I thought I was going to die. And this is after having lived six years in the very tropical climate of central Florida. At least in the States, everything (EVERYTHING) has air conditioning. Not the case in Japan, ne. Is a/c prevalent in Canada?

As you may or not be aware, ETS was banned in Sweden (it’s birthplace) some time ago. We were informed recently that ETS has also been banned in Pakistan. I’ve done some googling and whilst I can’t find a definitive answer, I came across this recently published article – I thought it might be well worth a read by everyone, not just those in Pakistan! I have to say though, it’s fantastic to have something relevant for our Pakistani HH friends for a change! I do hope it helps somebody.

    Management of Hyperhidrosis

Saba Irfan and M. Imran Qadir* College of Pharmacy, Government College University, Faisalabad, Pakistan
    Correspondence: mrimranqadir@hotmail.com

    Summary
In hyperhidrosis, there is too much and non&physiological production of sweat by our body. Hyperhidrosis affects 1&2% of the population. The origin of this disease is not clear, although some workers say that it is caused by sympathetic over activity nervousness. For the cure of this disease Antiperspirants are available. It can also be cured by Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS) method.

Keywords: Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy, Iontophoresis, Liposuction, Botox, Botunlinum, Anxiety

    Introduction
In hyperhidrosis, there is a too much and non&physiological production of sweat by our body. (1) Hyperhidrosis may be a general condition where unnecessary sweating occurs all over the body or local hyperhidrosis where the unnecessary sweating is in a specific location such as the face, feet or hands. By looking at affected portion, it seems that it is just washed, either it is hand, foot or underarms.

    Important Facts
    1. Hyperhidrosis affects between 1&2% of the population.
    2. In certain regions the percentage appears more than 2% (Taiwan and Philippines).
    3. Family genetic history is believed to play a major role in Hyperhidrosis (2)
    4. The most common areas of focal Hyerhidrosis are in the hands, armpits, and feet.
    5. Male and females both are affected.
    6. It can negatively affect people socially and functionally in their lives.
    7. Historically doctors have completely misunderstood or underestimated its significant impact on patient’s lives.

    Etiology
The origin of this disease is not clear, although some workers say that it is caused by sympathetic over activity or nervousness (3). Other factors may also take part in the problem and include certain foods, and drinks, nicotine, caffeine and fragrances. These may generate a reaction leading to the appearance of the problem.

    MAN AGEME NT

    Antiperspirants
Antiperspirants are available in market. By spraying upon affected portion, they produce less sweat for 6&10 hours. (4) Some multi national companies launch 16 hours less producing sweat Antiperspirants in market.

    Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy
With surgery, sweat through affected portion can be minimized or even can be removed completely. This method is called Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS). (5) In ETS, surgeon operates up to 30&60 minutes. Patient is completely unconscious and surgeon cuts sweat related Nerve. But this method is completely banned even in Sweden that was, its birth place in 2003. Because quantity of sweat can even gets more instead of reduction or it can expel to release through any other part of body. Another method during surgery overactive glands of sweat can removed from the body.

    Sweat gland suction
Sweat gland suction (6) method is originated from Liposuction (7) and is only used in auxiliary hyperhidrosis (8) means to remove excess of sweat from under arms.

    Iontophoresis
Iontophoresis (9) is used for hands and foot. Affected part is absorbed or dipped in water and electric current is passed whose quantity ranges from 15&18 amperes and is produced through DC Generator and in armpits the current is applicated via wet sponge electrodes.

Botox. This method of cure is so famous that in 2004 FDA approved this method. Botox (10) is particularly common for sweat in underarms.

    Purified Botunlinum Toxin.
Purified botunlinum toxin (11) is injected into the underarms, which temporarily block the nerves that stimulate sweating. The affect usually lasts for 2&6 months although some patients may continue to benefits for 12 months. It is very costly treatment. Make it clear that Botox is used to remove the wrinkles of skin and it can use as anti aging agent. (12) Prospects of ancient general Practitioner In the treatment of this disease doctors and herbalists (13) tell few precautions, upon acting on them it reduces significantly. Every department and way of precaution related physicians tell these measures.

    8. Do not use oily and fried items. Use low chilly in edibles.
    9. Use vegetables and corn to eat. Use Milk, Yogurt, and easily digested food.
    10. Stay away from worries.

    Precautions
In Hyperhidrosis, exercise is best than any other way out. Exercise can give best relief to patient than any other precaution or medicine.
    i. Some patients suffer from this disease only at night they don’t have any symptom in day time. They cannot even sleep at night due to which they remain depressed and this adds to their sickness.
ii. Some patients remain normal during the summer. And got their Underarms, hands, Foot, face, and joints covered with wet only in winter. That is a source of complete depression.
iii. In some patients, this process of excessive sweating becomes fast as long as they remain hungry. But as soon as they eat some thing sweat strength reduces or almost finishes.

This was written by a friend who suffers from Hyperhidrosis and posted this on our forum for all to see.  Knowell has his own site and writes blogs about living with this condition.
We thank you for letting us share this great story.

Early last week, one of my Indian office mate (Abdulhamid) received a warning letter from our HR that he was untidy and smelly, and threatened to apply salary deduction. While sobbing, he showed the letter to me and mentioned that ‘this is your payoff for all the good things you tried to share and exerted to this company’. With caution I asked him if that was true. He directly told me that he cannot avoid it because he has a sweating problem. Gosh.. only then I knew that somebody right there from our office share the same sweating problem like me!..

Immediately I told to Abdulhamid not to lose his composure; and assured him that I myself will assist in solving this issue. It’s really a long time I tried to bypass my office mates’ negative comments about this condition. Now this is such a relief for me to validate acceptance of our situation.

I wrote a separate e-mail addressed to our Administration and HR manager that they are wrong in labeling Abdulhamid as ‘untidy’. Aside from telling them that their accusation has nothing to do with his work performance, I told them that he did not choose to experience being untidy; in fact he cannot avoid being untidy because of his sweating problem. I told them that he has body and axillary hyperhidrosis, while I have palmo-plantar hyperhidrosis.. Finally i emphasized to them that they have no idea how we suffered trying to adjust with this condition.

After that, I informed to Abdulhamid what I did. I waited if the HR will call us for further reprimand but interestingly, the week almost passed and we never heard anything from them. I asked Abdulhamid for anything and said he never heard anything also, neither the HR opened the topic again as if nothing was circulated..

Whether they will accept us or not, what really matter is understanding the condition which can be possible only by raising the issue into public awareness. An understanding that life has imperfections; but the way we live makes it perfectly wonderful. And a trust that if the situation is beyond our control, we can rest assured with our Creator who has the total control of everything when he said “be still and know that I am the Lord..” I encourage you to please share your similar experiences to reinforce all of us.

Perhaps the most often asked question in Hyperhidrosis circles is “what comes first, the anxiety or the sweating?”

Over the years, I’ve been told by at least two doctors that I sweat because of my state of mind – which has had me questioning my neurotic state of mind and kicking myself for being ‘the cause’.  I’ve even had counselling.

Is it as simple as blaming the patient for their own disease?

Is THIS the answer to the question?

A VSB member has brought up a good point and always a good one to chat about.
“When you see a stranger sweating do you tell them they could have Hyperhidrosis?”
Do you tell anyone about your condition, or do you try to cope as best as possible and hide away?

I have found it better to be open about it, may come with age and sick of people staring and making me feel like a freak…Talking and telling does help, even if it is just close friends and family!

I do tell now,  this helps the embarrassing situation and stops people staring, what do you do?

“Members answers and the wonderful support we all share together”

I’ve started to be more open about it.   I still feel very awkward when people stare at me when I sweat but I just tell it like it is!   If they have nothing better to do than stare at me that’s their problem, not mine!
Family and friends are more understanding.
Strangers are the worst, but I can’t hide forever so that’s not a viable option. We all just have to cope as best we can, in the open, with the stares and uncomfortable explanations!
    C’est la vie.
My week just got better since I got out of my exam this afternoon, I didn’t soak through my answer sheet so I’m in a good mood.
Well done, takes a brave person to come out about it.  Took me years and now there is no stopping me :) hugs dear friend and glad you survived your exams.
The conversation started because we both were complaining about the heat. I had my little fan out and she admired it, so the timing was perfect. I guess you have to discern when you think it’s appropriate to talk about it. I saw a guy on a subway train about 10 days ago and the AC wasn’t working in that subway car.
He was having a conversation with a woman and was wearing a suit.   I could see before he started wiping his face that he was going to start melting. He just started wiping the sides of his face around his hair before he started dripping.
He didn’t take off his suit jacket to make it cooler for himself, presumably because of the woman he was with. I figured it wasn’t a good time to say something but I wanted to say “Take that jacket off! You’ve got HH and I know what you’re feeling!”
LOL I got off the car as soon as it stopped and go into the next one where the AC worked so I don’t know how bad he got.
I’ve just (after living with this for about 20 years) have made the bold decision to be OPEN about this.   Half of my battle with HH is the metal part, I get so darn anxious!!
I was talking with someone about it recently and she pointed out… that my sweating doesn’t hurt anyone!   There are so many worse things out there.
Now if I’m open about something that I cannot control, perhaps I will feel better about making accommodations, such as bringing a towel.
If I’m open I won’t feel weird about never wearing sandals, or wiping my face all the time or having some pit stains.   I sweat, and it’s just a part of me!
I used to have shame associated with my HH.   Perhaps because I was made fun of when I was little and no one would touch me.
As an adult I have done a full turn.   I am very open about my HH.   It really is a mental struggle.   It is who we are!
    “Actually, everyone accepts it”
If someone wants to turn their nose up at me, I don’t need that person in my life!  Of course I don’t tell everyone that I come into contact with but those people who are a part of my life should know.
If I am standing in line holding a ticket and my hands are dissolving it, I will just start fanning it and say “I am sweating to death! I am about to melt away this ticket!”   I seem to joke it off.
Maybe that’s not healthy but it gets me through.
People seem to make stupid comments when they see me sweat!   I just get annoyed with that.  If I see someone with bad rosacea for exmaple I don’t run up and say “OMG your face is so red!

Hi everyone, I am new to this page!  I have suffered with HH for a few years now!  I am just starting to tell family and friends about it,which is really difficult!   It causes anxiety (then sweating).
I have tried to live the best I can with it, but at times it is sooo hard.  I have struggled with many daily activities which does get me down!
I have had the iontophoresis which did not work!   I have just had the botox last week in my palms, which in some ways seems to be working!
I really do not want the ETS surgery!  Talking to other sufferers of HH really helps my confidence, as it is only you who can understand!
So glad you joined and talking about this.  Always helps when your around others who also have HH, how are your hands feeling? Are you noticing any changes yet? Are they still swollen?
Hi, no they are not swollen anymore, but they are still going blue and are extremely cold!  My right wrist is still painful, so I have been to the doctors this morning!  The sweating has started to come back, but it is now down the sides of my fingers and it is also on the tops of my hands!
    Is this normal?
I feel for you!   I don’t have sweaty palms or feet but my face, head and back are like a effing faucet!
It’s only 71 degrees today and if I stood perfectly still in the shade I wouldn’t have been sweating but as soon as I feel the heat from the sun or walk, I’m sweating. I couldn’t wait to get to the office because the AC is on today!
I am afraid of the surgery but I swear the thought of going through another summer as a sweatbox is making me wish I could have the surgery.
I had thought about Botox of my hands too but was advised against it.   I did have it done on my underarms.
There are just too many nerves close to the surface of the hands.
I do not recommend the ETS at all!
I take oral meds and they have been a great help to me but not everyone has had luck with them.   In fact I forgot to take it today and have been sweating more than usual.   Slipping around in my shoes and my hands are dripping as I type.
    I so HATE this!
Not so blue today, wrist still hurts though!  Sweat is pouring down the sides of my fingers!
I had the botox because I had already tried the ionto treatment which did not work and the only other option I had was the surgery, which I really don’t want!
Which oral meds do you take?  I use anhydrol forte for underarms which works really well, does sting a bit at first, but at least it works!
Dreading summer, but I sweat a lot in winter too!
I sweat all year round, it’s central heating that switches me on..were never really free of it. I have used Robinul, Ditropan, Detrol LA, have you used Oxybutrin.

It doesn’t matter what your age or sex is, hyperhidrosis doesn’t discriminate.

Wherever your sweat is, it’s miserable, awkward, annoying, frustrating – but there’s no need for me to tell you that, we all run out of adjectives for it and it never seems to cover our suffering with any great adequacy.

I’ve found a product that I think men will love.  Maybe women, too.  I don’t see why we can’t try these out – especially in the colder seasons!

They’re moisture-wicking boxer shorts and have a high rating and good customer reviews.  If crotch/truncal and or back sweating bothers you to any degree then these just might give you some relief and restore a bit of confidence.  Even better – they’re on sale right now – giving them a trial run won’t break the bank.

If these aren’t enough for your sweating (lets face it, no one product is enough for some of us, unfortunately) then a layering strategy might well be something that will work well for you.  It’s the only thing that works well for me.  If you need that bit extra, how about Denise’s Wrapps?  They began life for one lady’s groin hyperhidrosis and have gone from strength to strength – through word of mouth, now even sports men and women wear these, even if they don’t have hyperhidrosis.  It’s so much more comfortable to be dry – and the only way anyone will know you’re wearing one is if you tell them.

Whilst I haven’t tried the men’s moisture wicking boxers, I have tried the Wrapps and I can guarantee they’re a life saver.  As the Wrapps can be purchased in sample packs of two, it doesn’t break the bank to give them a try.  I have about 20 of them now – that’s enough for me to last a week during the hottest of summer days with normal everyday use – housework, shopping, gardening – I lead an exciting life!

Keep checking back, we’ll help you to take control of your sweating so you can get on with doing something altogether more interesting – with so much more confidence!

    Laulas shirts

As just about everyone on www.verysweatybetty.com knows, I’ve suffered with Hyperhidrosis all my life.  That’s 43 years, in case you were wondering.

Hyperhidrosis is a non-discriminatory skin disease which affects a significant proportion of people across the world.  It is estimated to affect around 3% of the population – although if you’re like I was, thinking it was ‘just me’ – then you don’t bother to see your doctor about it.  That means the 3% figure is nothing more than a minimum guestimate.

There’s sadly no cure for Hyperhidrosis.  Not yet, anyway.  Anyone or any website who claims differently is not worth bothering with.  These sites exist for one reason only, that’s to make money from people like us, people who are desperate enough part with a lot of money for drugs, ebooks, surgical procedures, various products that claim to cure us and end our suffering.  Trust me, if there was a cure then I’d be out enjoying life instead of shying away from hot and humid weather and you wouldn’t be reading this review.  Instead, I choose to spend my time helping people come to terms with – and learn to cope with their excessive sweating.  For free.  And no, I don’t get paid.  This is a labour of love!

From time to time, verysweatybetty.com is lucky enough to trial different products.  As we would do practically anything to help our members, we take the hits for you.  There’s nothing worse than spending lots of money on something that claims to work but at the end of the day, makes little or no impact on your symptoms.  When we get to try products, we report back – honestly – and that helps you to make a more informed choice.

A product I’ve been trying for the last few weeks is a Laulas tee-shirt from www.sweat-help.com.  Gerhard, who also suffers from Hyperhidrosis, has invented and perfected the Laulas over many years and it works so well they actually don’t have a need to sell any other products.

This is the production information on their website – www.sweat-help.com:

The Laulas tee-shirt is made by a traditional Swiss Company
The fabric is 100% cotton with the Oekotex standard 100 seal (tested for harmful materials, produced in an environment friendly establishment)
100% cotton yarn of “Swiss cotton ring” (women’s shirt with 5% Lycra)

My verdict – the Laulas more than lives up to it’s high production values.  It’s the softest, lightest, silkiest feeling cotton tee-shirt I’ve ever felt.  It’s nothing like the thick, stiff cotton garments that are more commonplace – there really is no comparison between Laulas fabric and just about any other tee-shirt brand available.  On that alone, you will be thrilled with your purchase.

I have taken the next part direct from Laulas’ website (http://www.sweat-help.com/help)

Naturally sweating, let it flow, don’t prevent it!
I have been looking for possibilities to let my sweat just flow but haven’t found anything.
Until my t-shirt! 2003 – my first prototype was ready and a new life began.
Being able to wear blue shirts, reach up in the air, being able to just take off the jacket when it’s warm in the room was wonderful.
It took a while until everything was ready …

    But now it’s here!

The functional shirt is for women and men

    * The shirt that makes it possible to just let the axillary sweat flow and nobody can see it.
    * The shirt that gives you new freedom.
    * The shirt that takes away the fear of extreme sweating and reduces the visibility of sweat.
    * It only takes you two minutes a day.

    The result

    * No changes to your body, neither from the inside nor from the outside
    * No white lines on your shirts – No discolored shirts anymore
    * No fear of lifting the arms.
    * No pitiful and disgusted looks anymore.

Letting your sweat flow makes a lot of sense.  Bear with me, I’ll explain as best I can.  When you sweat, it’s for a reason – it’s to cool you down and prevent us from the dangers of overheating.  You will only stop sweating until your body is at the right temperature.  If you blocked every single one of your pores, then you wouldn’t sweat.  However, that would completely go against the whole reason for us having the ability to sweat in the first place.  If you blocked half of your pores, you would still sweat from the unblocked pores – but the likelihood is that you’d sweat more and for longer.  Your body would be working much harder to cool you down.  This is borne out by the vast majority of people who have had surgery for their sweating – ETS (Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy), which blocks off sweating from above the nipple line, instead delivers unacceptably high levels of sweat from below the nipple line.  This is called Compensatory Sweating (CS).  Letting your sweat flow is natural and not a danger to your health.  Until we have a cure, the only thing you can really do for it is to manage it the best way you can.

The Laulas concentrates a lot of it’s energies towards helping Axillar Hyperhidrosis – in other words, sweaty armpits.  I’m from London, originally, and anybody who has ever travelled on the underground train network will have lost count of all the enormous patches of sweat appearing from their own underarms and those of their fellow passengers.  The Laulas is there to actively catch this sweat.  It also has discrete little pockets you can pad with absorbent paper (Tempo, Plenty etc) which will help even the heaviest sweater.  I’m an average underarm sweater and didn’t need to use the extra padding.

My Laulas tee-shirt arrived at just the right time.  We have recently had builders in to refit our kitchen and fit both bedrooms, that involved a lot of sweat-inducing work as we had to move everything out of these rooms so they could have access.  This also happened to be during the hottest few weeks of the (UK) summer.

I was really pleased with the hard-working efficacy of the tee-shirt.  For a garment to be so soft, you just can’t possibly understand just how mighty it’s hidden power is until you’ve tried it for yourself.  As it’s 100% cotton, it absorbs well and dries fast.  No matter how much I sweated, it caught it and helped it to evaporate.  I knew how bad I was sweating because the rest of my body was drenched – I’m an extreme sweater and sweat from my scalp to my feet.  The only area the sweat was actively contained and hidden was on my upper body.  Although the Laulas places a lot of focus on the underarm area, it still helps with other problem areas of sweating.  My back is one of the areas I sweat the most and usually my tee-shirts end up wringing wet – the Laulas even helped with that, no break-through back-sweat.

The Laulas is simple, effective and very comfortable.  No matter whether you’re male, female, young or old, there is a Laulas for everyone – I can’t recommend them highly enough.
