    Hello all, we have been talking and helping a young Gentleman who is currently making a new Iontophoresis machine.   This could mean a better future for us all, less suffering from our dreaded Hyperhidrosis.  If you can please take a few minutes out of your day to fill out the on-line survey.

    Remember….our little voices can make ONE BIG ONE and help raise the awareness on living with this skin disease.

    Let me introduce you to a wonderful young man,

    Hello, My Name is Mark Gamwell and I thank you for this opportunity,

    I am a fourth year Product Design student at Loughborough University. As part of my final year I must undertake an in-depth design project.
    After careful thought and consideration, my choice of final year project has been greatly influenced by the experience of one of my friends who has suffered for several years from hyperhidrosis. Having been present at one of their iontophoreses treatments at an NHS hospital, I thought that the equipment used could have been designed in a more user friendly manner; however the treatment was very effective and relieved their symptoms greatly.

    I am going to design and develop an iontophoreses machine that would be primarily used by people at home as well as in hospitals. I am now looking to conduct in-depth user research to help me develop a comfortable and user focused product.

    My main areas of development from my initial research will be:
    •User comfort during use.
    •User’s ability to control while treating their hands.
    •How information is displayed and user interaction.
    •Allow for easier storage.
    •Reduce cost whilst providing a quality product.

    To ensure that I can design a product that addresses real user needs and desires, I need to gain first hand research from people who own and use these machines in their everyday life.
    I want to find out what you like and enjoy about the machine you use, what you dislike and what really annoys you when using it.
    The more information I can gather on how everyone interacts and uses their machine, the better understanding of what it is that really needs to be addressed in my redesign.
    I really hope that with lots of support I can design a product that will be able to make a real difference and possibly allow me to approach the current manufacturers with a new and innovative idea that could possibly become a manufactured product that will go on sale.

    Kind regards,

    Mark Gamwell

    If the trials all go well we could be seeing a new topical agent coming to us sufferers soon.

    Want to thank my dearest friend for keeping us in the loop of new things for Hyperhidosis, your a gem :)

    NEW ANTIPERSPIRANT HYDROGEL WITH ACETYLCHOLINE BLOCKING
    MECHANISM: FIRST CLINICAL REPORT
    INTRODUCTION AND DESCRIPTION OF THE NEW ANTIPERSPIRANT GEL

    A new antiperspirant hydrogel has been projected and discovered based on an innovative
    mechanism of action consisting on acetylcholine release partial blocking. This biochemical
    mechanism is the main involved in eccrine sweat glands secretion and is the main issue to solve in
    the patients suffering of hyperhidrosis. Generally patients suffering of moderate to severe grade
    hyperhidrosis undergo to botulinum toxin sessions properly to block acetylcholine release and so
    reduce sweating for several months and furthermore apply day by day very high percentage of
    Aluminum chloride topical products to reduce excessive sweating. Botulinum Toxin is very
    effective because blocks specifically proteins which induce acetylcholine release and so reduce
    dramatically eccrine glands secretion; unfortunately injection of botulinum toxin is a strict specialist
    medical practice and is not free from side effects, contraindications, allergic events and so on. Not
    all the patients could be enrolled to apply botulinum toxin and many times these patients, impatient
    to solve their embarrassing condition, provide to buy this drug from not legal channels and accept
    to be treated from not specialized and skilled people. Furthermore, in the cosmetic landscape,
    there’s only aluminum chloride products capable to produce acceptable results, but they are not free
    from side effects as adenitis and skin irritations if applied every day.
    This new cosmetic approach to hyperhidrosis has the main purpose to give an important opportunity
    to all the patients suffering of hyperhidrosis allowing them to treat this condition with the same
    mechanism of action of botulinum toxin, but without inject anything and simply applying a pleasant
    and light hydrogel in the axilla, face, hands and forehead.
    This gel contains an association of natural substances capable to reduce acetylcholine release in the
    proximity of eccrine glands reducing contextually their secretion, exactly as botulinum toxin, but in
    a very natural and not invasive way.
    PRELIMINARY CLINICAL REPORT
    20 patients suffering of moderate to severe grade hyperhydrosis have been tested under the
    supervision of specialized dermatologists in the San Gallicano Hospital Dermatology Department in
    Rome.
    These patients began application of this new gel (SNARE BLOCK), after two weeks from the
    interruption of application of any other product for hyperhidrosis (aluminum chloride, long lasting
    antiperspirant products etc.): they only applied short lasting deodorants and a common hygiene
    protocol.
    These patients were educated to apply SNARE BLOCK two times a day (morning and night) in the
    affected area taking care to induce a complete absorption of the gel in the skin area involved with a
    light massage. No other products for hyperhydrosis were applied with the exception of common
    deodorants with no antiperspirant molecules inside.
    These patients came back to the clinic once a week to compile a clinical report under supervision of
    a dermatologist in charge to carry out the clinical evaluation.
    The parameters considered were:
    - Grade of subjective satisfaction;
    - Grade of pleasantness of application;
    - Indication of “sweat reduction grade” in a graduated scale;
    - Fast working effect grade;
    - Objective clinical examination;
    At the end of the 4 weeks, 18 patients declared to be:
    - quite satisfied to highly satisfied of the efficacy of the product indicating a grade of “sweat
    reduction” ranging from 6 to 8 in a graduated scale ranging from 0 for no effects to 10 for complete
    satisfaction. 1 patient interrupted after only 2 weeks declaring that the product didn’t work and
    another one interrupted after 3 weeks with no explanations;
    - in a scale ranging from 0 to 10 for the “sweat reduction” parameter grade 2 patients reported a
    score of 8 (high grade of reduction), 13 patients reported a score of 7 (moderate-high grade of
    reduction); 3 patients reported a score of 4-5 (moderate grade of reduction);
    - 16 patients declared to be satisfied in terms of pleasantness in a scale reporting these parameters: 2
    patients not satisfied (bad sensorial effect in the skin), 7 patients moderately satisfied (acceptable
    sensorial effect, but not very nice), 9 very satisfied (very good skin effect and nice to apply);
    - 18 patients declared a quite slow working effect onset: 7 patients declared to feel first working
    effect in sweating only after 15 days from the first application and the best effect after 18-20 days.

    Vicki’s story,

    My Story to date,
    I’m Vicki and I’m not ashamed to say that I am an Hyperhidrosis sufferer.  It it embarrassing but I’m not ashamed.
    I have had Hyperhidrosis since I could walk.   It started with my hands, feet and underarms and I noticed more at the tender age of 5-6 in Infant School.   I used to have to write whilst I had a clump of tissue in my hand to wipe up the dripping sweat from the page.   I also had to stuff rolled up tissue under my arms to stop my uniform from getting drenched.
    Summer time obviously the worst season for me, but it affected me all year through. Doctors used to tell me to hold my hands under cold water for a minute to cool them down, which did not work.   I was then tried on something similar to Driclor where it was rolled on my affected areas and had to sleep with socks and plastic gloves on. This worked for a short while but then the sweat faught its way through!

    When I approached 13 I was advised to go and see a Dematologist Consultant in Manchester Infirmary. They told me about the endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy surgery, also known as ETS.   They told me that they would make a small incision in each arm pit and cut some glands to help cut down the sweating. They said that there was a possibility of the operation making my eyes droopy.

    As I was modelling at the time,  my Mum thought it would be best for me to make this huge decision when I turned 18.   So I just learned to live with it.
    Always ensuring I had tissue in my bag,  I could never wear a top or dress without sleeves as there would be nowhere for me to put the tissue under my armpits.   I hated having to shake hands with anyone, especially for job interviews as I would always have to explain myself (i still do).

    Eventually,  in 2003 when I was 21,  I bit the bullet and decided to go for the ETS operation/surgery as I couldn’t live the way I was, being an Entertainer and in the public eye 24/7.

    I had a consulation first where they told me about collapsing my lungs during the op (something they never mentioned before) and the “slight” possibility of a “small” amount of sweating on my stomach as it would need somewhere else to go. I thought that I could cope with my stomach, if it stopped under my arms and hands (feet I could cope with).
    After the surgery, the first week was brilliant.   I went back to Mallorca where I was working,  then disaster struck!
    One night I literally couldn’t gasp for my breath. I was rushed into hospital and after 3 days of ECG and MRI scans/tests, they found fluid on my lungs, something that had accrued in Manchester Hospital.
    I was then in hospital for a further 7 days.   Once sorted,  I flew back home in the October and realised that my sweating was ridiculous.   I didn’t think anything whilst in Mallorca due to the heat anyway.   I found that my “slight” amount of sweating had increased to my forehead, back, stomach, armpits, hands, feet, legs.   Basically EVERYWHERE!.
    There was nothing that Manchester Infirmary could do about it either.   I did have Botox in my armpits for a short while in 2005, but my local hospital withdrew the funding unfortunately.   Botox was brilliant and lasted for 6-8 months.

    Since joining HSG and Very Sweaty Betty,  I have found out about some bladder control pills called Oxybutynin.   I consulted my GP who was more than happy to try me on them.   I do notice a bit of a difference but with how severe my sweating is,  I think that I will need to be increased to a bigger doseage.

    I now have my very own Iontorphoresis Machine because my local PCT won’t fund any sessions in hospital because in their words, “I am, low priority”!!!
    I will start using this, this week, so fingers crossed for my future. It is horrible living like this and not being able to wear cloths without sleeves; especially in the summer or dancing in a pub with tissue stuck to my forehead or shoes without tights/pop socks on, but i’m not ashamed to tell my story and increase awareness of this awful condition. Finally I do urge anyone who’s thinking of having ETS – PLEASE, DON’T DO IT!

    Want to thank our member and guest for this wonderful blog. You are a pure gem.

    If you want to help us RAISE AWARENESS on living with Hyperhidrosis, please join in our cause.  We are one of the highest viewed sites and our Alexa ratings are high.  What could be better than trying to get our little voices out to make one big one.

    My story,

    I have had palmer hyperhydrosis since I can remember (I’m 25) and it has caused me no end of bullying through school with people not wanting to hold my hand etc.   I have tried all the creams available and, although they work well to an extent, they make my hands so dry and sore that I can’t use them for any length of time.

    Since having my son I have also developed it in my armpits (and also a bit in my feet though not quite as bad) and now my problems have really started.

    I work in a high school as a learning support assistant, and even though I wash everyday and use various deodorants etc. throughout the day, I have kids refusing to sit with with me because ‘I smell’ and now have my boss on to me trying to get occupational health involved as she has had ‘complaints from other staff’ about my condition.

    I have explained many times that I am doing all I can to control my condition and that the last time I spoke to a doctor about it I seemed to know more than they did!  (So basically don’t think HE will tell me anything I don’t already know!)

    Also I myself do not always notice any odor so I need the other staff support to tell me, but to no avail.   They are even telling me that if I don’t “SORT OUT THE PROBLEM” then I may not be able to CONTINUE WITH MY JOB!

    I am also suffering with work related stress at the moment which is only exacerbating my condition, and now with them ‘on my back’ about it it is only getting even worse in both respects! (The only strategy they have suggested to ‘help’ is that I change my clothes at regular intervals during the day. With the amount I sweat this would be about every 2 hours or so to avoid any trace of sweat patches or smell so I would need 3 changes of clothes everyday at work! Plus I could just imagine the kids asking “Why have you changed your top Miss?”   So it is just not practical in my view!

    I also have a problem with my amateur dramatics society when,  at the last minute I was given a very thick,  hot cloak to wear onstage.   I informed them of my condition and that I would be likely to faint with the heat and loss of water if I had to wear it,  (I once came VERY close to fainting onstage in the past and only just made it backstage before I literally collapsed in a chair!)   I was told to “GROW UP AND GET ON WITH IT                                                                           “EVERYONE SWEATS”,  and finds the cloaks hot but they just get on with it!”   Evey night of that show I used to just about make it through the scene and then have to rush to sit on a chair and drink loads of sports drink before I was fit for anything. even then if one of the older members wanted the chair I was expected to give it up as I was ‘Just being silly!’

    I really think more should be done to, PROMOTE AWARENESS,  for this condition to the general public and medical staff,  as people seem to have no idea about how debilitating this condition is or how hard it is to ‘just deal with it’. They seem to think we can just stop the sweating but we can’t!

    How we can all relate to this, what would you advise our kind member?  We all suffer the same.  Please join us in our battle to raise awareness on this awful affliction we all share.  Feel free to leave comment, join us in our forum www.verysweatybetty/forum

    The more we help the STRONGER WE BECOME.

    Tell us your story, join the forum to make this possible, help for the better cause.

    Another blog on sweaty feet – and why not! It’s the season where we’ll be going from lighter Summer footwear to heavier, enclosed Winter shoes and boots.

    Forum link

    Sweaty feet are problem for many. They not only cause social problems but a great deal of personal problems too. Apart from causing strong odor, sweaty feet can also hamper your daily walks and life. Sweaty feet are a natural phenomenon and can be yours by birth. There are many ways to get rid of the sweaty feet. Here is some best information you may be looking for.

    Sweaty feet are caused by the nature of your body. In the average span of the day, your body perspires naturally to regulate heat. In case of some people, this natural process of perspiration is overweening in the feet. This is what results in sweaty feet and in most of the cases sweaty palms too. This condition is known as hyperhidrosis; defined as the yield of perspiration more than what is important to cool off your body.

    Excessive sweating is generally of two types-the first case is when your body sweats more naturally while in the second case, your body sweats more due to some conditions and diseases. The first case is known as primary hyperhidrosis and the second one is secondary hyperhidrosis.

    The biggest problem that lies with sweaty feet is that they can even result in very smelly feet. It can be thus very embarrassing situation for the affected person. People frequently experience pieces of skin that is inclined to peel and be really painful. Sweaty feet can also result in Athletes foot, which is a common condition.

    Tips to help cope with sweaty feet:

    Take special precaution with foods and drinks that you intake. It is noted that certain foods and drinks can make you sweat greatly. Drinks that have alcohol or caffeine may provoke surplus sweating. In the same way, some spicy food may make some individuals sweat a great deal.

    Sweating beyond certain limits may also be due to hereditary reasons. If you are facing problem of sweaty foot, find out whether your parents have this problem too. There are certain medications available in the market that can control natural perspiration. Always consult your doctor before taking these medicines.

    If you are taking some medicines regularly, consult your doctor to know if these are the reasons behind excessive sweating. There are certain types of drugs that induce heavy sweating.

    If you experience that you sweat more than enough, please consult your doctor to know more. You can not measure the tendency of normal sweating. Therefore, each one of us should know about their body that whether we are sweating more than normal or less.

    Do not wear shoes that are made of synthetic materials, such as, tennis shoes and socks. These footwear are made of man made fabric which are actually contributing factors in the production of great perspiration.

    There are good qualities of lotions, medications and powders available in the market that are good to help deal with sweaty feet. Certain medical foot bath treatments are good anti-perspirants excellent for sweaty feet.

    A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME – aka Plantar Hyperhidrosis / sweaty feet

    Among the important functions of our skin is to assist in getting rid of the excess heat from our body. This is accomplished by evaporative cooling (the sweat evaporates taking with it heat extracted from the body). When there is excess sweating or it is retained on the body, the sweat accumulates; this is called hyperhidrosis. Sweat ordinarily does not produce an odor. If the sweat stays on the skin too long, it can contribute to the growth of bacteria and the breakdown of skin chemicals. This bad smelling sweat is called bromhidrosis. The first condition can be a simple annoyance to you and the second can be an annoyance to those around you, especially in a oriental food restaurant.

    RISKS OF SWEATY FEET:

    Sweaty feet can also have a harmful effect on other aspects of your foot health too. The excess sweat can act as a chemical vehicle and solvent extracting chemicals from the linings of your shoes. These dissolved, shoe chemicals can cause skin rashes (contact or allergic dermatitis). The sweat can also lead the more rapid deterioration of your shoes.

    Most importantly, the sweat also significantly changes the environment inside your shoes to not only dark and warm, but also damp — the perfect environment for certain yeast, mold, fungal and viral infections of the skin. Sweaty feet are thus more like to develop skin rashes, yeast infections, athletes foot, fungus toenails and warts (common or plantar). If you have any of these conditions, then controlling your hyperhidrosis is very important for treating these concurrent problems.

    YOU CAN DO IT!:

    Here is some helpful advice which you can follow if you have a problem stemming from or worsened by excess perspiration (sweating) of your feet.

    HYGIENE is the first and simplest factor which must be addressed. If the feet, toes and toe webs are not well cleansed regularly and kept dry, sweat will accumulate, and foot odor and infections can result.

    The feet, toes and toe webs MUST be “cleansed” well, NOT just rinsed off. Use a surgical-grade antibacterial soap such as Betadine® Skin Cleanser (VERY drying; not to be used if allergic to iodine!) or Hibiclens®, or their generic equivalents, available at your pharmacy. “Deodorant” soaps are NOT enough to control bacteria. Cleansing means gently cleaning with a washcloth and then lathering up the feet again with one of the antiseptic soaps and allowing that lather to sit on the feet for a minute before washing it off. Then it is important to thoroughly dry the feet and webs, if necessary with a “hair” drier.

    FOOT ENVIRONMENT is the second, obvious area to focus on. We usually encase our feet in closed, tight, shoes which are often made of non-absorbent materials, such as patent leather, plastics, vinyl, and rubber. Frequently shoes are glued together instead of sewn. Do NOT were cotton socks in closed shoes (compared to sandals). Cotton socks in winter, outdoors, can make your feet cold and likely to get frostbite. Cotton socks in closed shoes guarantees hotter, wetter feet!

    Whenever possible, wear shoes which closely match the shape and contours of your feet and toes. Limit the use of “stylish,” “designer” shoes. Wear shoes that fit properly; be measured for them before buying; and allow plenty of room in the toe box. If you cannot easily wiggle your toes in the shoe, it is too tight. Wear shoes with uppers made of leather, not impervious. Gortex is great for venting excess perspiration. NEVER wear the same shoes two days in a row; use shoe-trees between uses. Allow your shoes to DRY out a full day before wearing that pair again.

    Powder your feet, toes and webs (NOT the shoes) with a good foot powder such as ZeaSorb® (which contains micro-fine cellulose) before donning your socks or stockings. In cool or cold weathers, a thin pair of polypropylene or acrylic socks worn under more absorbent socks of acrylic-wool blend will keep the feet drier. A medium-bulk acrylic sock would be a good substitute for the preceding combination. Cotton socks should be AVOIDED, especially in closed shoes! They are absorbent BUT they hold your own sweat against your skin – there to cause problems! Wear only clean socks – daily. If you have a significant sweat problem, change you socks or stocking half-way through the day, re-powdering your feet when you do.

    At the end of the day, wear sandals, zorries or flip-flops around the house. Where appropriate go shoeless with or without a pair of fresh, clean socks. (Caution: may be slippery on tile and wooden floors and stairs!) AVOID foam-filled, terry cloth (usually cotton uppers) slippers.

    STRESS makes you Sweat!
    Perhaps the most difficult factor to control is the stress in your life. The more “tension” you are under, the more you are likely to have sweaty feet. Modifying your behavior and your psychological environment (at home and at work) to lessen excessive stress will help you control sweating. This is an ongoing task which you must confront, hopefully with the cooperation of the people you have to deal with. Professional guidance may help.

    What more can be done?

    Several other tools and techniques can help to lessen the problem of sweaty (and smelly) feet.

    Soaking your feet in (yes!) regular tea (which contains the astringent tannic acid) daily can be helpful (though it may “stain” your feet). Wiping you feet, toes and webs with rubbing alcohol a couple times daily (or at least before going to bed) may be helpful too; allow it to dry thoroughly. In addition to a towel, consider drying your feet carefully with a hair drier (with heat off in summer and, if safe, on in winter).

    For a severe sweating problem and cracking between the toes, place a wick of gauze in each of the web spaces, extending onto the top and bottom of the feet. These can be cut from a cotton gauze pad or from a roll of soft-woven gauze.

    Rx: If simpler methods are insufficient, using prescription strength antiperspirants (NOT deordorants!) may be needed. DrySol® or Xerac-AC® is applied nightly to DRY/dried feet(above) and washed off in the morning several times each week. These strong preparations work so well that professional guidance is advised. If your own efforts don’t seem to be working, then call us and come in to see me! We will do our best to help you achieve a better level of foot health. We look forward to serving you, your family and friends for this and other foot and ankle concerns.

    Sweat Shield® safely and effectively treats hyperhidrosis and excessive sweating anywhere with a simple, once-a-week application.

    Sweat Shield® is formulated to safely block the sweat glands, protect against irritation, and soothe your skin.

    Increase your confidence and save on laundry bills while Sweat Shield® keeps you dry all day, every day!

    How Does Sweat Shield® Work?

    Sweat Shield® is a liquid formula, soaked on a soft, non-woven pad. Once a week before bedtime, open one of the packets and dab (do not rub) the disposable pad thoroughly under the arms within the hairline. Allow your underarms to air dry for a few minutes, and then go to bed. During the night when your sweat glands are less active, Sweat Shield® will safely form a block in your sweat glands that will last a week. It will not wash off, it does not leave any film, and you won’t even know it’s there, except that you won’t be sweating. In the morning you can shower, shave and get on with your life, sweat free. The Sweat Shield® formula and its application method was created by a clinical research lab who has many years of research experience in the production of antiperspirant products.

    Another in our guest blogging series.  This time the blog concentrates on a whole family’s experiences with Klima Products for their various personal fights with Hyperhidrosis.

    Our thanks to go Klima for very kindly supplying the products.

    Klima antiperspirant spray:
    My name is Tim.  I have always sweat more than usual.  It was sometimes annoying, but I learned to live with it.  What else are you going to do?  I sweat excessively on my feet, chest, back, head and armpits.  I don’t believe it is all that much more than others until someone points it out.  More often, I just sweat in situations where normally someone wouldn’t sweat.  I am 37 year old and in recent years, I have learned from a friend that we have a condition called Hyperhidrosis.  My friend recently introduced me to a product from Klima to help reduce the sweating.  I have to admit it works almost too well.  When I used the antiperspirant spray from Klima, it completely stopped the sweating on my feet.  It mostly stopped sweating on my back and chest as well.  After I had used the Klima antiperspirant for a few days in a row, I only had to use it every few days for it to work.  I now use it even less often, usually on occasions where I really don’t want to be seen sweating.

    Klima HyperDri Facade:
    User, my son Ryan.  Ryan is 12 years old and sweats excessively on his head and face.  I was excited to hear about Facade from a friend because it was made especially for craniofacial hyperhidrosis (facial sweating).  I was also excited to try the product out on my son because it is aluminum free and I don’t like over loading my son on aluminum products at such a young age because cancer runs in my family. The first week on the product I only noticed about a 20% decrease in my sons sweating but by the second week it worked a lot better with about a 50% decrease in his sweating but I did notice compensatory sweating on the top of his head. I would like to see Klima produce an aluminum free shampoo that my son could use and cut down on his entire heads sweating. I would also like to see an all over body wash.  My son also tried Klima’s Hyperdri antipersperant gel for the body. He applied it under his arms in the morning for 3 weeks. It worked well and kept him dry under the arms for most of the day. It does irritate the skin if applied after a shower. Make sure you wait until completely dry to apply.  Ryan also said it burns a little anyway. This product is completely aluminum free as well. The 1.7 oz. bottle only last for about 3 weeks.

    Klima HyperDri Freshfoot:
    User, my daughter Clare.  Clare is 9 yrs old and has sweaty, stinky feet and is starting to show signs of facial sweating. My friend recommended that I try freshfoot gel for Clare’s feet.  The product was aluminum free which I love.  I would apply the product before she would put on her www.klimadeodorant.comslip on tennis shoes. I bought a new pair of shoes so that I could tell how well the product was working. She picked a black pair of no tie, slip on, tennis shoes..  After three weeks of using the product her shoes didn’t have the white salt stains that sweat creates and they still smelled pretty good. Her last pair of tennis stunk so bad that I could smell them from the back seat while I was driving and they made me gag. I would always have to buy a new pair of cheap tennis shoes each month because of this. Clare did complain of a slight burn when the gel was first applied and by the end of the bottle of gel her feet started to peel from dryness.

    Bone Dri antiperspirant roll on:
    User, Jackie age 43.  I was given two bottles of this roll on by my neighbor to try. I sweat the most under my arms and bra line. I absolutely LOVED this product.  It glided on easily and dried quickly and would keep me dry for 24 hrs. I would even spread it under my breasts. It worked great!! The 2 bottles only lasted about 5 weeks :( though.

    Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, is a skin disease which produces a lot of unhappiness.  It is estimated by the medical profession that 2-3% of people all around the world suffer from excessive sweating.  Non-medically speaking, the figure could easily be far, far higher.  In our experience, many people only find out they have Hyperhidrosis because they stumble across the name of it by accident.  Many people don’t want to bother their doctor because they think it’s ‘just them’.  There are many reasons why people can go throughout life and never mention it to anybody.
